Monitoring health and wellbeing during and after the COVID-19 crisis

News - 16 April 2020 - Communication

How is COVID-19 affecting human wellbeing across the world and what can we do about it? MyWellnessCheck.org is a friendly assessment service to help organisations understand and respond to the health and well-being needs of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

An international research team of Industrial Design Engineering TU Delft aims to recruit 10.000 participants to sign up for assessments of their health and wellbeing during the COVID-19 crisis. From research lead Derek Lomas: “This is a unique global situation that challenges us to think about our fundamental goals in society. In so far as we seek to support and optimize wellbeing, we need to measure it. We are applying Human-Centered Design creativity to reduce the burden of assessments and help enhance new solutions for mental health and wellbeing.

My Wellness Check is starting by helping universities gather anonymous wellbeing information from socially isolated students and employees. With more insight into self-reported health and wellbeing, researchers hypothesize that universities can provide better services for those students and employees who are self-isolating at home.
