2020 Winners of the Golden, Silver and Bronze Marker

News - 27 May 2020 - Communication

Each year IDE’s Design Sketching and Visualisation teaching staff selects the best student work from the Design Visualisation course to form a longlist of best posters. This longlist is whittled down to the top three. This year students Lisa Laverman, Lars Timmerman, and Silke Snijder were selected for the Golden, Silver and Bronze Marker 2020.

The three winning posters, which are also published on Instagram:

1. Lisa Laverman
2. Lars Timmerman
3. Silke Snijder

These awards motivate and inspire students to further explore the discipline of visualisation, through sketching (both analogue and digital), and through the creation and composition of visual information in general. The work was evaluated based on criteria concerning design sketching, including set up and materialisation and spatiality, the integration of context, visual composition and presentation of the outcome.

About the course
Design Visualisation includes observation exercises and covers various drawing and visualisation techniques and methods. The common thread of the course are two design trajectories that are run visually. The second design visualisation project considers the ideation and conceptualisation of vehicles with specific functions, shapes and aesthetics, fitting a predefined context.
