Internship Opportunity at Erasmus Medical Center – General Practice

News - 27 May 2020 - Communication

The corona pandemic has massively impacted General Practice (GP), with many practices having had to reduce opening hours to a bare minimum. But with pressure on the health system having eased in recent weeks, some GPs are considering resuming regular office hours. This leads to the challenge of social distancing, including the 1.5 meter rule, which will have to be implemented into their daily practice. GPs are asking just how to go about this.

The Erasmus Medical Centre is urgently looking for an enthusiastic intern who wants to study this issue. How would you approach patient flows in general practice now that it looks as if the coronavirus will be with us for some time? How might you integrate other forms of consultation such as video calling into the GP’s practice in order to reduce the influx of patients? This is a very current problem and you offers the chance to make a direct contribution to the solution.

This internship, which comes out of the Convergence initiative between TU Delft, Erasmus Medical Centre and Erasmus University Rotterdam, is suitable for master students and offers the possibility to continue with graduation. It’s a three or six month project. The student will be based in a GP practice in Rotterdam or the surrounding area. The student should be free to start right away.
