Up Close and Personal

Design United’s event, positioned as an ‘antidote to social distancing’ zooms in on the work of 33 up-and-coming designers from the Netherlands’ four technical universities (4TU) via an online magazine and a series of talk shows, built around five contemporary topics in design: Hybrids, Eco-Logica, Living Matters, Silent Power and Crisis!  No less than 20 IDE students and researchers feature in this impressive and thought-provoking collection of design projects.

Browse the magazine and watch the live streams (including IDE subject experts, Alessandro Bozzon, Elvin Karana, Roy Bendor and Jeroen van Erp ) at 13:00 from Monday to Friday.

Van Berlo/Accenture FORWARD/ Responsible Design

11 Delft designers will also be showcasing their work on the circular economy at the Van Berlo/Accenture FORWARD/ Responsible Design event on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October. They will be sharing research, including a variety of toolkits to help other others in their designs. These include Floor Poppelaar’s toolkit which helps consumers bid farewell to (and thereby recycle) disused mobile phones; as well as Jesal Shah’s project which taps into the idea of social contagion as a means to bringing about the transition to a more sustainable future.
