It’s no secret that the new chair of the Department of Human-Centered Design, Pieter Desmet, is our resident expert on all things positive. Pieter’s recurring column on Positive Design in the (Dutch) Journal of Positive Psychology is a timely reminder of the good that design can bring to our lives.

His latest (and 20th!) column is about the inspiring work of IDE alumna Gina van der Werf. He tells us how Gina has combined her passion for sport and design ability to create exciting, adaptive sports equipment for visually impaired children.

For a much-needed dose of positivity, take a look at Pieter’s columns here.
