Ernest van der Wee joined our group as a postdoc on October 1st. He will be working on cryogenic super-resolution fluorescence targeting for FIB milling in electron cryotomography, under supervision of Jacob Hoogenboom and in collaboration with the group of Arjen Jakobi.

During his PhD in Utrecht, Ernest has quantitatively studied 3D colloidal assemblies imaged using confocal and STED microscopy, as well as TEM and FIB tomography. After that, he did a postdoc at Northwestern University in Evanston (IL), USA on the dynamics of 2D assemblies of rotating magnetic field induced microrollers, as well as their hydrodynamic interactions with obstacles.
