Siamak Abolhassani joined ImPhys per July 16th, 2020. During his PhD, he is going to address the well-known cycle skipping problem in conventional FWI through hybridizing Joint Migration Inversion (JMI) and FWI techniques under the supervision of Dr. Eric Verschuur.

Siamak Abolhassani completed his master's studies in Exploration Seismology at the Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran, Iran. During his master's, he worked on the forward and inverse blocks of the Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) technique in both frequency and time domain. His research interests lie at the intersection of inverse problems and seismic/medical imaging techniques.
