Indoor Possibilities Expanded as of This Week

News - 21 July 2020 - Communication

Do you want to practice your dance routines, play a musical instrument, work out on a spinning bike or work out at the Fitness in the morning? As of this week, these options become available again!

Dance and music rooms
The corridor to Freetown has been closed since 6 July due to building work. If you’d still like to practise during the summer, you’ll be able to do this as from 22 July. We have prepared the Boost room temporarily for use as a music room for one person alone. There is a piano, but you must bring any other instruments you need with you. Additionally, the Rhythm room is available to dance in for up to eight persons. This room has a proper dance floor.

If you have an X subscription, you will be able to book a time slot via our webshop from Wednesday, 22 July. You may book a spot up to two weeks in advance.

What X offers you in this summer
Due to our phased reopening, you may have lost track of what’s on offer at X during the summer. Here’s an overview of what’s on offer:

  • You can take part in various ticket hours. Check the full timetable online.
  • The Fitness is open 08:00-23:00 on weekdays and 08:00-22:00 on the weekend.
  • Cafe X is open for ‘takeout’. You may take a seat indoors or on the terrace.
  • You can book the following outdoor facilities: tennis court, soccer field, hockey field, beach volleyball field and basketball court.
  • You can book the following indoor spaces: sports hall X3b, ACTlab, VR booths, Boost (as a music room) and Rhythm (as a dance room).

Fitness
Many people have been coming to the Fitness since it opened on 6 July. The time slots fill up quite quickly, however, and extra time slots are needed in the mornings. We have found a way to provide for this need for increased fitness capacity within the current limitations. In concrete terms this means:

  • From Monday, 20 July, the number of people that are allowed to exercise is increased.
  • From Thursday, 23 July you will also be able to work out at the Fitness in the morning from 08:00. Registration for these new time slots will open on Wednesday, 22 July at 13:00.

Please note: you can book a spot up to one week in advance, and can book up to three time slots per week. This will allow as many people as possible to come and work out. We have noticed that people who have booked a spot do not always come to the Fitness, which is a pity as this makes it hard for people who really want to come to the Fitness to find an available time slot to book. If you have booked a time slot but are unable to use it, please be sure to cancel your reservation well in time so you allow someone else to take over the spot.

Spinning
Since 29 June there have been various ticket hours for you to participate in. The Spinning ticket hour will be added to this on Wednesday 22 July. To guarantee compliance with the 1.5-metre social distancing rule, our spinning area will accommodate 18 persons at a time.
