Solar power prediction

Sukanta Basu (GRS) has won the Solar power prediction challenge – a hackathon organised by Shell and many other partners to develop machine learning-based solar energy forecasting. Basu’s solution was deemed accurate, innovative and scalable and therefore he ranked first out of 2000 contestants.

Basu will donate the prize money to a rural electrification project in India.
