Kick-off TU Delft Battery Platform

News - 05 September 2022

Thursday 7 July saw the kick-off of TU Delft’s Battery Platform, connecting researchers in battery-related disciplines ranging from mining, engineering, chemistry, designing, implementing, and recycling to related social aspects. The Battery Platform aims to strengthen TU Delft’s position in this field, both in the Netherlands and beyond.

During the successful kick-off, Marnix Wagemaker (AS) introduced the Battery Platform, followed by pitches from a number of researchers:

  • Rene van Swaaij (EEMCS), photovoltaics and silicon-based storage
  • Xuehang Wang (AS), interfacial engineering, and the influence of electrolyte MXene
  • Riccardo Ferrari (3mE), fault-tolerant control lab
  • Kaustub Singh (AS), salt water flow and redox flow batteries
  • David Peck (BK), critical raw materials
  • Shoshan Abrahami (3mE), metals production, refining and recycling
  • Fokko Mulder (AS), materials for energy conversion and storage
  • Burak Eral (3mE), battery recycling, new approaches to recycling with light
