New paper out on the dynamics of regional energy planning and regional energy transitions in Indonesia, with cases on the Indonesian provinces of Bali and South Kalimantan. The article shows the interplay between factors at national, provincial and local levels which can lead to different progress and ambitions with regard to the renewable energy transition pointing to different roles for civil society actors and different participatory processes.
