Analysis of material safety for use aboard hydrogen-fuelled ships
SAOS will be doing a sub-project as part of the larger program “H2Ship – Sustainable Hydrogen Integrated Propulsion Drives” (link). The contribution of SAOS will be to propose methods to model the failure of steel that are exposed to hydrogen during a crash. This modelling will include the modification of damage models to account for the effects of hydrogen embrittlement.
