Reinier Kuppens received his Master in Mechanical Engineering cum laude with specialization in Biorobotics from Delft University of Technology in 2016. He focused on automated mechanism design with evolutionary algorithms. Since June 2016 he is a PhD candidate in the group of Interactive Mechanisms and Mechatronics from the department Precision and Microsystems Engineering at Delft University of Technology. He is currently working on compliant micro mechanisms in close collaboration with industry.
Recently, on Tuesday 15 June 2021 Reinier defended his doctoral dissertation “Energy Invariant Mechanisms”. This thesis presents energy invariantmechanisms that can be scaled to micro size. Please check out more of his work in this summary of his thesis and his own YouTube channel.
