Rajit Ranjan comes from the small town of Sitapur located in northern India. He has a bachelor's degree in Production engineering from NIT Allahabad, India and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Cincinnati, USA. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in the department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering. He has three years of industry experience with Tata Hitachi, India (2 years) and Boeing Research, India (1 year).
My fields of interests include topology optimization, additive manufacturing and process modelling. I am part of a Marie curie project titled 'Precision Additive Metal Manufacturing' (https://www.pam2.eu/). My current work focuses on detection and avoidance of design features which cause local overheating issues in the AM process. In my free time, I am interested in movies, literature, history and sketching.
