Amir Abbas Kashi

PostDoctoral Researcher

Amir Kashi joined the DMN research group as of 1 April 2021 as a Postdoc.

He studied mechanical engineering at Amirkabir university of technology in Iran. Then traveled abroad for his master's degree. He has received the M.Sc. degree in material science and nanotechnology from the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, in 2016. Later he started his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e) with Photonic Integration Group (PhI). His doctoral dissertation is entitled "Electro-optic phase modulator on InP membrane on a silicon platform." During my Ph.D. he gained a lot of technical experience with photonic components design, semiconductor fabrication, and high-frequency characterization. He is very interested in optomechanics, sensors for Micro/Nanosystems, MEMS, electro-optic phase modulators, and passive photonic components, including ring resonators and surface grating couplers.
