Symposium on Nano and Micro Scale Damage in Metals
Date: 7, 8 & 9 February 2018, Beatrixgebouw Jaarbeurs, Utrecht (NL)
The international symposium on Nano and Micro Scale Damage in Metals is organised to share and discuss state-of-the art knowledge on the damage phenomena at micro and nano-scale responsible for initiating failure. Topics include both experimental and modelling work on (i) hot tearing of metals, (ii) damage formation during fatigue, (iii) anisotropic damage formation, (iv) multi scale damage modelling, and (v) formability of advanced high strength steels.
The symposium will include keynote presentations by international authorities in the above mentioned fields, and we hereby invite people to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations.
The initiative for this symposium originates from two running research collaborations: the NWO Industrial Partnership Program ‘Physics of Failure’, and the RFCS project ‘BaseForm’ (RFSR-CT-2014-00017), in which universities and industry join forces to better understand the origins of damage and failure in steels.
