Knowledge Conferences

The van Eesteren Chair organizes a series of conferences from early 2015 until the end of 2016 on the IJsselmeer Region. The aim is to share knowledge between the different involved disciplines involved and for generating new ideas. Therefore a broad group of stakeholders are invited, including governments, businesses and societal organizations.

In the first conference the relationship between the Delta Programme and the Ecological system was the central topic to be discussed. The following series of lectures explored how to optimally use the different landscapes of the IJsselmeer region for Recreation, Tourism and Energy. The third gathering was dedicated to the relationship between land and water around the entire "IJsselmeer".

The knowledge gained during the conferences support the Chair in the formulation of relevant tasks for design research for the IJsselmeer region, focusing on an integrated spatial-qualitative perspective. The contribution of the participants is relevant input for the final product, a hand-drawn 'Atlas of the IJsselmeer Region'.
