University and MBO students build circular prototypes together

What if students from Architecture, and Building Technology worked together with students from MBO to develop circular building products? How would a systematic exchange between them affect their learning? And would it lead to designing and making building products differently? This was the challenge for the students of the interdisciplinary elective course ‘Circular Building Product Design’: to design a comprehensive building system using bio-based materials and then build 1:1 prototypes of these systems together with students of ROC van Amsterdam | BouwAcademie Amsterdam. The results can now be seen at The Green Village.

On 9 April, the Circular Built Environment Hub organises the fourth debate in the 'Making the Circular Built Environment a Reality' series. This debate focuses on some of the social aspects of the transition to a circular built environment.

Week of the Circular Economy: 11 - 16 March 2024

The Circular Built Environment Hub is also participating. On 13 March, PhD candidates will present their research and discuss with practitioners. There will be a video exhibition at the faculty, and stories on circularity in the built environment will be shared.

Symposium: Architecture and Doughnut Economics

As part of the ongoing 'Doughnut Architecture' research project, the architectural offices Superuse Studios, Space & Matter, CityFoerster and Time to Access will present their latest works and engage in discussions with the Amsterdam Donut Coalition and the Circular Built Environment Hub on 14 December.
