Junlin Heng

Profile

Dr Junlin completed his Joint PhD in Civil Engineering in Southwest Jiaotong University and University of Birmingham, under the full scholarship by China Ministry of Education, China Scholarship Council, and British Newton Funds. He is currently a joint postdoctoral fellow at TU Delft.

Research

Dr Junlin’s major research interests lies in the following three aspects:

(1) Fatigue and Corrosion Fatigue of Steel Structures: How to synergize the theoretical model and model test to establish the deterioration model of fatigue/corrosion fatigue for steel structures in a numerical-experimental hybrid way?

(2) AI-empowered Prognosis Health Management of Steel Structures: How to fuse the theoretical model, monitoring data, and inspection result via Artificial Intelligence to predict the deterioration evolution of steel structures.

(3) Prefabricated Steel-Concrete Composite Structures: How to develop the novel shear connector with high performance, to connect the precast concrete and steel via welds and bolts.

Dr Junlin’s major research interests lies in the following three aspects:
