O.T.F. (Oscar) Toledo Farrando

Profile

I am a Ph.D. student in the Geoscience & Remote Sensing department. I obtained my BSc in Aerospace Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and my MSc in Aerodynamics & Wind Energy from the TU Delft. My MSc graduation project was about the development of goal-oriented reduced-order modeling strategies for wall-bounded shear flows.

Research

I am working on the Renewable Energy Forecasts from Observations and high-Resolution Modeling (REFORM) project, which aims to outperform the state-of-the-art weather forecast models by using the GPU-based large-eddy simulation model GRASP. My research will be focused on assessing the performance of the GRASP model on wind farms with different types of atmospheric boundary layers and terrains.
