R. (Raymond) Sellevold

Profile

I am a PhD candidate at TU Delft since October 2016, working on modelling the Greenland ice sheet surface climate and surface mass balance in a global climate model. Before coming to TU Delft, I did my masters in climate dynamics/meteorology at the University of Bergen and worked at an Arctic weather observation station at Bjornoya for the Norwegian meteorological institute.

Research

My research focus on future coupled evolution of Greenland ice sheet and climate change. With ongoing global warming, it is expected that the surface climate of Greenland will change substantially. Using a global climate model (CESM2.0), I investigate the causes of changes at the ice sheet surface (eg., albedo, heat transport, clouds) and the interaction of the ice sheet with other parts of the climate system, such as the atmosphere and sea-ice.
