Bram van Prooijen

Bram van Prooijen has a background in hydrodynamics and sediment dynamics. During his PhD he studied the turbulence in shallow flows. At present, his main interest lies in all aspects of tidal flats: hydrodynamics (tides, waves, wind induced flow), sediment dynamics (mud and sand) and the interaction with ecology. Together with various researchers, we develop and apply numerical models with schematized geometries to complex geometries.

He teaches the bachelor course Fluid Mechanics (CTB2110) with associated practicum (CTB2100) and the master course Sediment Dynamics (CIE4308).
