M. (Marianthi) Sousamli, MSc

Profile

I was born and raised in Greece, where I also obtained my diploma as a civil engineer. In 2014 I moved to Delft, where two years later I completed my master in Structural Engineering, with specialization in Concrete Structures. After my graduation, I started working as a researcher in the group of Computational Modelling of Structures and I am currently a PhD candidate in the same group.

Research

My research focuses on the computational modelling of masonry structures. As a researcher I participated in the prediction and post-test validation of a number of masonry buildings tested on shaking table. Additionally, through numerical analyses, I investigated the effect of the vibrations in Groningen on the buildings of the area. As a PhD candidate, my research focuses on developing and implementing a constitutive model for the nonlinear, cyclic behaviour of masonry.
