Ir. Yue Shang

Profile

Yue Shang is currently a PhD candidate in Engineering Asset Management, working on her research ‘Integrating Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) technology and machine learning techniques for condition-based maintenance scheduling for rail infrastructure. Her supervisory team consists of promotors prof.dr. A.R.M. Wolfert and dr. M.T.J. Spaan and daily supervisor ir. M. van den Boomen. Yue obtained her MSc at TU Delft, faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences in 2018, and continued her PhD in 2019.

Research

Yue’s current research focuses on condition-based maintenance scheduling and optimization for railway assets. It aims at joining the prognostics (by structural health monitoring (SHM) and data analytics) with maintenance scheduling, reflecting a transition from raw condition data generated by SHM technology to failure diagnosis & prognosis and further to maintenance decision making.

Yue takes part in the education of the course CIE 4381 Engineering Asset Management. More over she is involved in the supervision of master thesis students.
