Profile

Maryam Rikhtegarnezami is a PhD candidate in the Integrated Design and Management section at the Department of Materials, Mechanics, Management and Design (3Md), Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). She works under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hans Bakker and Prof. Dr. Ir. Marcel J.C.M. Hertogh. Her research focuses on multi-client collaboration in infrastructure projects, which is funded by The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).

She is closely collaborating with the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft and the Faculty of Social Sciences at The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as well as several industrial partners (such as Schiphol, Rijkswaterstaat, Vitens and Alliander). She completed her Master’s and bachelor’s degrees at the University of Tehran and University of Tabriz respectively. She worked on the application of automated negotiation for the implementation of integrated community energy systems as her master’s graduation project in collaboration with TU Delft. She also studied the applications of the game theory in supply chain management during her bachelor’s graduation project.

Research

My research, which is part of a bigger program: `NGI (Next Generation Infrastructure)’, focuses on inter-organizational collaboration (i.e. collaboration between different actors from different organizations) with a particular interest in the early phases of projects. In this research, I aim at facilitating inter-organizational collaboration by identifying the critical elements that influence collaboration. I look for possible effective solutions to facilitate the collaboration between multi-client in an infrastructure construction project. To realise such solutions, I am performing action research in one of the inter-organisation infrastructure projects running in the Netherlands.
