M. (Mohammad) Sadeghi


I am Mohammad Sadeghi. In my professional work career I am a project management with background in electrical engineering. Because of my personal interest and dream to pursue my education I have began my education in TU Delft in PhD level. My PhD topic is about crack detection and connect it to the industry and it is my aim. I have mixture of academic education in electrical engineering and work experiences in Electrical, engineering.


Crack is a major defect in pipe line specially for pipe which lie down in hazardous area and this is main issue in the oil and gas industry, upstream transportation as well as downstream industries. It is highly important to detect and identify the crack on time when pipe is in service. On time detection and identification of crack in pipe is highly important for safety, service life services and operation. Because of high risk of frailer plenty of NDT research’s done focused on detect, size and location of crack.

The purpose of my PhD research is to investigate on application of microwave engineering in non-destructive testing (MNDT) for detecting crack in oil pipeline. In this research we are applying the microwave technique to detect crack based on measuring pipe reflection coefficient (S11) characteristic and try to find a crack in different pipe shell layers.
