Ir. Z. (Ziyulong) Wang
Profile
Ziyulong Wang is currently a Ph.D. student at the Digital Rail Traffic Lab within the Department of Transport and Planning at the Delft University of Technology. He conducts his research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rob Goverde and Dr. Egidio Quaglietta. He received his Master's degree cum laude in the Department of Transport and Planning at the Delft University of Technology and his Bachelor's degree in the School of Traffic and Transportation at Beijing Jiaotong University. Prior to joining the lab, he worked as an intern at REISinformatiegroep B.V. (colloquially known as 9292) where he finished his Master's thesis.
Research
His Ph.D. project is entitled "Optimizing Performance of Automatic Train Operation on Railway Networks". He will seek to develop methods and algorithms for Automatic Train Operation to optimize capacity based on the ATO-over-ETCS specifications of ERTMS. This research will lead to a prototype tool for the ATO trackside subsystem, connected to a Traffic Management System. This research is performed in close collaboration with the Dutch railway infrastructure manager, ProRail.
