The Water Management Department offers education in the fields of water resources engineering, hydrology, urban water engineering and environmental engineering. In the Bachelor Civil Engineering the Department contributes to the general part of the curriculum and to the water specialisation programme. In addition, it contributes to the BSc minor programme  Delta Expert, Water for the Future.


In the Masters Civil Engineering the Department organises two tracks:

  • Water Management, with the specialisations Hydrology, Water resources engineering, and Urban water engineering
  • Environmental engineering, with the specialisations Environmental science and Environmental technology

Online Education

Many of our courses can be followed as electives or in the form of distance education. In addition, individual courses can be followed by professionals as contract student. For these groups we also offer free online courses, so-called MOOCs:

In addition, education materials of sixteen regular MSc  courses are freely available in the form of OpenCourseWare. Moreover, the department often contributes to PAO courses (Post academic education) on water management.
