Dr. Lisa Scholten
My name is Lisa Scholten. I am a tenure track assistant professor in urban water infrastructure at TU Delft since April 2015.
I hold an engineering degree (Dipl.Ing) in Urban and Industrial Water Resources Management with a minor in East Asia/China studies from TU Dresden, Germany, and a PhD degree from ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
In my work, I develop knowledge, methods and processes for systemic interventions that aim to facilitate better decision making in the water sector. Key applied topics are the planning and asset management of conventional urban water infrastructure as well as the transition towards new systems.
I endorse system thinking beyond disciplinary orthodoxies, combining methods from engineering, decision analysis and statistics as well as insights from the behavioural and social sciences.
The direct engagement of stakeholders into research and the training of current and future water managers in a way that enables them to embrace complexity are key priorities to me.
