Banafsheh Abdollahi

Profile

I was born in Shahrekord, Iran, where I also did my bachelor’s degree in water engineering. Then, I finished my MSc in the Department of Irrigation and Reclamation Engineering of Tehran University, Tehran, Iran. Since June 2018, I have joined the Water Resources Management group at TU Delft as a PhD Candidate. My PhD Project is about the impacts of irrigation water extraction on the global hydrological cycle.

Research

During this PhD my aim would be to develop and apply an open access framework to evaluate the impact of irrigation water extraction on the global hydrological cycle which will help us to understand how to prevent harmful effects of irrigation water extraction on the global hydrological cycle. This open access framework will help water managers make better water management decisions, thus helping to ensure both a stable food supply and healthy ecosystem.
