Profile

Since September 2018 I have joined the Water Resources Management group at TU Delft as a PhD Candidate. I was born in Amsterdam, where I also did my bachelor’s degree in physics. I hold two Master’s degrees: one in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and one in Cultural Anthropology from Utrecht University. During this PhD Project I will work on issues related with water management, circular economy, and sustainable cities.

Research

My PhD project is about the Food-Water-Energy Nexus of Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. I work together with an international research consortium called ‘Enabling large-scale adaptive integration of technology hubs to enhance community resilience through decentralized urban food-water-energy nexus decision support’ (ENLARGE). ENLARGE will produce sustainable action plans to minimize water, carbon and ecological footprints for the metropolitan regions of Amsterdam, Miami and Marseille, seeking to increase community resilience and reduce operational risk under climate change impact.
