Ir. Fransje van Oorschot

Profile

Fransje obtained both her bachelor and master degrees in Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology. During her master, she specialized in Water Management with the main focus on hydrology. After finishing her MSc degree in spring 2020, she continued her MSc thesis research on the representation of the vegetation’s root zone in land surface models as a PhD candidate in the Water Resources group at Delft University of Technology.

Research

Her research is part of the CONFESS project that aims to improve the representation of temporal variations of boundary forcings in Earth system reanalyses and seasonal forecasts. In this project, her focus lies on the representation of vegetation and vegetation’s roots in land surface models (specifically EC-EARTH-HTESSEL). She will partly conduct her research at TU Delft and partly at CNR-ISAC (Bologna, Italy).
