Talk at CGI about Blockchain. A disruptive technology shaping the world.

On the 8th of June, a number of people from Oil and Gas Industry interested in Blockchain gathered around at Eneco building in Rotterdam Alexander. Organised by CGI, the round table discussion took place on what Blockchain was and what it was not; it’s limitations and different use cases. Dr. Zeki Erkin of TU Delft gave a talk about Blockchain in general. A fruitful discussion on the usage of Blockchain in Smart Grids concluded that a teaming-up was needed to investigate future use of the technology.

The First ACM Workshop on Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies and Contracts, BCC'17

The paper "A Framework for Preventing Double-Financing using Blockchain Technology" has been accepted for publication in The First ACM Workshop on Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies and Contracts, BCC'17 to be held in conjunction with ACM AsiaCCS’17. This work was part of a BSc honour project by Joris Oudejans and Hidde Lycklama under supervision of TU Delft assistant professor Zekeriya Erkin on the topic of blockchain and finance.

TU Delft partner in National Blockchain Coalition

On 30 March, Henk Kamp, Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, took receipt of the action agenda of the National Blockchain Coalition. The agenda is a joint initiative by more than twenty organisations – including the TU Delft Blockchain Lab – from the logistics, energy and financial sectors, as well as knowledge institutions and government bodies. The Netherlands aims to use the agenda to be an international pioneer in the application of blockchain technology.

On March 3 2017 TU Delft assistant professor Zekeriya Erkin gave a talk at PI.lab on applications of homomorphic encryption as manner to promote Privacy enhancing technologies. He presented his view on possibilities to effectively secure data by using homomorphic encryption and a manner to promote Privacy by Design. You can find his presentation here.
