The goal of the Vattenfall Solar Team is to inspire the world in the field of high-end technology and to promote sustainability through the use of renewable energy. We want to achieve this by competing in various solar challenges with our own solar car Nuna, such as the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia and the SASOL Solar Challenge in South-Africa. Every two years we design and build a completely new Nuna, with one goal in mind: becoming world champions solar racing! The team is constantly pushing the limits of technology to cover miles as quickly as possible and win races. We work closely together with companies and our university to be able to apply the latest technologies to Nuna, without our partners winning races would not be possible. The combination of high-end technology, renewable energy and the excitement of the race perfectly reflects the vision of the Vattenfall Solar Team: we race to show the current possibilities technology offers and to inspire a sustainable future in which energy is used efficiently.

New drivers Vattenfall Solar Team race at circuit Zandvoort in solar car
The Vattenfall Solar Team revealed their three drivers who will be driving their newest solar car NunaX during the World Championship in Australia this fall. At circuit Zandvoort these three brand new solar drivers raced each other in a competition for the right to drive the qualifications prior to the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Tom Salden was the fastest driver and even set a record.

Nuon Solar Team is Champion Solar Racing in South Africa once more
The Nuon Solar Team has won the Sasol Solar Challenge in South Africa once again. During a couple of exhausting days, filled with technical setbacks as well as human error, the team twice lagged far behind their Japanese rivals.

Nuon Solar Team achieves 2nd starting position
Last Wednesday, at the qualification for the starting position at the Sasol Solar Challenge 2018 in South Africa, the Japanese were just one second quicker than the Nuon Solar Team. So the Dutch team will start at Saturday 22 September, with their solar car Nuna9S, on the second position.

Nuon Solar Team, once more, World Champion Solar Car Racing
The Nuon Solar Team has convincingly won the 14 th edition of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, the worldchampionship solar car racing in Australia. Nuna9 finished in Adelaide around 6.45, on the fifth day of the race. Their 3.000-km- long journey across the Australian Outback took them 4 days and about 6 hours. This is the Nuon Solar Team’s seventh championship title.

Nuna9 finally revealed!
Last Tuesday it was the big moment for the ninth Nuon Solar Team finally there: the spectaculair revealing of Nuna9 at Lijm & Cultuur! This year the car looks a little different because of multiple regulation adjustments. The most striking one is that Nuna9 is a lot smaller than her predecessors!
