'When I left secondary school, I really wanted to study something in technology at TU Delft. And after learning more about the Marine Technology degree programme during an open day, I was certain about my choice: I had found my subject! The fact that the programme is unique in the Netherlands appealed to me. Almost everyone has the same goal in mind: to become a marine engineer!

The degree programme is challenging and demands a lot of your time. But if you enjoy what you’re doing, that is no problem at all. Many of the students here were stimulated in their youth to take up sailing or boating. With me that started with sailing lessons in an Optimist.

The fact that the Netherlands has a varied and good maritime sector, means there are numerous opportunities available for students. The William Froude study association helps us come into contact with this sector. The active members of Froude also organise a lot of social activities. If you think that Marine Technology might be something for you, make sure to come and check it out during an open day!'
