Mandatory Matching

The bachelor's degree in Technische Wiskunde is an enjoyable and challenging study, but it does not always correspond to what prospective students expect. The bachelor's programme in Technische Wiskunde therefore considers it important that before you start your study you experience what it is like to do this study, so that you can determine whether this programme suits you. For this reason, Mandatory Matching is applicable for all students who want to start the programme in September 2023.

If you do not or not fully participate in the mandatory matching procedure, your enrolment will be withdrawn.

Language

The official language of the programme is Dutch. All communication and also the official language of the mandatory matching will therefore also be in Dutch.

What does the Mandatory Matching consist of?

The most important part of the Matching is the Matching day. On that day you will have the opportunity to experience (possibly online) what it is like to study Technische Wiskunde. You will get examples of lectures, seminars and assignments. There will also be an opportunity to get acquainted with the programme, teachers and future fellow students in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Matching days for students, who want to start their bachelor’s programme of Technische Wiskunde in September 2023, will take place on:

  • Thursday 13 April 2023 (on campus)
  • Tuesday 20 June 2023 (on campus)

In preparation for the Matching day, you also need to do some assignments at home, such as filling in a questionnaire and homework to prepare for the Matching day. If you enrol in the bachelor Technische Wiskunde via Studielink you will receive more information regarding the Mandatory Matching by email. The first information email will be sent mid-December.

Based on the results of the Matchning procedure, the programme will give you advice on how well the bachelor's degree Technische Wiskunde suits you. This advice is not binding. It is up to you to decide whether or not you want to follow it.

Registering for the mandatory matching procedure

You must submit a request for enrolment by 1 May 2023 at the latest via Studielink for the bachelor's programme in Technische Wiskunde. You will receive more information about how to apply for the mandatory matching procedure after registering via Studielink. Exeptions

Not able to participate on the Matching day?

Participating in the matching day is mandatory for everyone. If you are unable to attend due to force majeure or illness, please contact us via skc-ewi@tudelft.nl. We will then assess whether there really is a case of force majeure. If this is the case, we will look for a suitable solution so that you can still do (part of) the Mandatory Matching.

NOTE: holidays are not a valid reason for not participating in the procedure.
