Follow-on Master's programmes

Once you have your BSc degree, you can decide whether to study for a Master’s degree. Be aware that a Bachelor title from a University of Applied Sciences equips you for a career in the world of business, but at a university it is a step towards an academic degree. We therefore advise you to continue studying.

Master's degree programmes within the faculty

After your Bachelor’s, you can transfer to one of the tracks of the Master’s degree programme in Mechanical Engineering. This TU Delft Master’s degree programme offers the broadest Mechanical Engineering programme at academic level in the Netherlands. You can also choose another Master's degree programme like Systems & Control, Offshore & Dredging or Materials Science & Engineering

Biomechanical Design

BioMechanical Design focuses on the design of systems intended to interact with biological systems, such as the human body, or on the design of systems that mimic biological systems.

Biomedical Engineering

The BioMedical Engineering programme is a mix of biology, medical theory and highly specialised technical training in subjects such as electrical engineering, physics, materials science and mechanical engineering.

Energy & Process Technology

In the Energy & Process Technology track, you will acquire technological knowledge and theoretical, computational and experimental skills to help you play an active role in the development of innovative new energy and process technologies.

European Wind Energy Master: Offshore Engineering

This double degree is for students who are interested in design, analysis, production, transport, installation, operation and maintenance of offshore wind turbines and wind farms.

High-Tech Engineering

The programme focuses on the fundamentals and design of high-tech systems and scientific instrumentation, with special attention to extreme precision and aspects of miniaturisation.

Materials Science & Engineering

In this Master’s programme you will work on the development of materials that must satisfy various requirements and performance parameters. You will also concentrate on designing innovative new materials to meet the continuously evolving needs of society.

Multi-Machine Engineering

The focus of Multi-Machine Engineering is on the development, design and operation of sustainable and effective marine and ground transport systems.

Offshore & Dredging Engineering

Offshore & Dredging Engineering is a multidisciplinary Master’s track aimed at modelling and designing structures in and on the sea. This is a collaborative programme between Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technology.

Opto-Mechatronics

This track will teach you the fundamentals of optics in theory and practice, as well as understanding of high-end optical systems combined with mechatronic system design treating dynamics and motion control.

Robotics

The MSc Robotics is situated at the intersection of mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence. Engineers who graduate in this domain will be able to guide the industry in strengthening and accelerating robotisation.

Systems & Control

This programme will train you in interdisciplinary strategies with regard to modelling, signal processing, controller design and system analysis. It will prepare you for playing a key role in the field of dynamics and control technology for complex systems and processes.
