Non-Dutch BSc degree

A. A bachelor’s degree in technology or engineering from a good university, that is comparable in level with a bachelor degree from a research university in the Netherlands with good grades on the key courses. EPA candidates need to have a clear interest in modelling and simulation, and proven ability of either modelling or programming. EPA candidates are preferably able to show their social engagement and/or interest in social and policy sciences from past (study) activities and/or experience.

B. A proof that you have nearly completed a bachelor’s degree in technology or engineering from a good university, that is comparable in level with a bachelor degree from a research university in the Netherlands with good grades on the key courses.

A Bachelor's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 75% of the scale maximum, unless specific requirements are defined for thecountry in which you obtained your bachelor's degree. Find a full list of countries at the second point on this page.

Please note: if you have not graduated yet your CGPA must meet the requirements at the time of application.

Proof of English language proficiency.

• A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with an overall score of minimum 100 and a minimum subscore of 22 for all parts. Please note that we only accept the TOEFL internet-based test.
• An IELTS (academic version) overall score of minimum 7,0 and a minimum subscore of 6,5 for all parts; 
• A Cambridge Assessment English:. Only the following certificates are accepted:
  • B2 First (FCE) - Grade A (scale 185 and above)  
  • C1 Advanced  (CAE) - Grade C (scale 185 and above). 

Certificates older than two years will not be accepted.

Please note:
Only nationals from the USA, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada are exempt from the proof of English language proficiency requirement. Applicants who obtained a bachelor’s degree in one of the mentioned countries, are also exempt from the proof of English language proficiency requirement.

As the whole process of collecting information, registering for the tests and receiving the test results may take several months, we advise you to register for the IELTS, TOEFL or one of the Cambridge tests several months before starting your application. 

• Non-EU/EFTA nationals must upload all required application documents before April 1^st, including their proof of English language proficiency. 
• For EU/EFTA nationals, our advice is to upload the proof of English language proficiency before April 1^st, in order to make sure that your enrolment and access to services can  be arranged on time. In case you cannot provide the proof of English language proficiency before April 1^st, you may upload it until 1 July, provided that all other required application documents are uploaded before the application deadline of 1 April. 
• Nationals of the People’s Republic of China only: for visa purposes you need a  Nuffic certificate as proof of your English language proficiency. In order to obtain the Nuffic certificate you will need to take the IELTS or TOEFL internet-based test.

A clear and relevant essay in English (1,000 – 1,500 words) addressing the following:

• Your motivation for taking the MSc programme of your choice.
• Why you are interested in TU Delft and what you expect to find here
• If the MSc programme of your choice has optional specialisations: which specialisation(s) interest you most, and why?
• Describe your hypothetical thesis project; what kind of a project would you prefer if you were free to make a choice? Also briefly explain what you would want to explore in your thesis project. Provide a maximum of three hypothetical thesis topics and elaborate on your particular interests in them.
• A brief summary (maximum 250 words) of the thesis work or the final assignment (to be) done for your Bachelor’s programme, including information on the credits earned, grade, and full workload.

An extensive résumé (curriculum vitae) written in English.

Required document: A photocopy of the page (or pages) of your passport that give your name, date of birth, place of birth and the passport expiration date.
