Andrea was born in Costa Rica and studied her Bachelors in Chemical Engineering at the University of Costa Rica. After working for a couple of years, she moved to the Netherlands in 2014 to study Sustainable Energy Technology. She started working with the PVMD group in May of 2015 with a SIP 2 project regarding photocathodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting and is now continuing this work for her thesis project in conjunction with the MECS group at Chemical Engineering.
