Aquabatterij wins Rabobank sustainability price

The Rabobank Herman Wijffels Innovation Price 2016 has been won by AquaBattery in the "circulair economy" category after a selection of more then 250 applicants. The young Delft company developed a special battery concept that is based on water, ordinary kitchen salt and special membranes.

Kornelis Blok in The Jakarta Post: New coal technology won't solve climate woes

According to the World Coal Association (WCA) “high efficiency, low emissions” coal technology will allow Indonesia to “continue to use its coal resources”, whilst also meeting its international commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is simply false: No new coal plants are compatible with the goal of keeping global temperature increases below 2 degrees Celsius.

Global lighting specialist OSRAM invests in leading Dutch startup TVILIGHT

TVILIGHT, a spin-off of the Technical University Delft in the Netherlands, and nowadays an innovative high-tech company and a market leader in intelligent street lighting solutions for Smart Cities and the Internet of Things, announced the successful completion of the investment round. Growth finance came from OSRAM, a global leader in lighting technology who acquired a minority stake in the company. Furthermore, the original investor Ponooc who backed Tvilight with seed investment in 2012 continues to participate in the company.
