As inspiration for scientist, policy makers, entrepreneurs and above all TU Delft students, the Delft Energy Initiative and the Energy Club organized on Thursday 22 September 2016 a debate. We brought together Shell’s Integrated Gas and New Energies Director, Maarten Wetselaar, Chief Economist at the IEA, Laszlo Varro, and Associate Professor Economics of Infrastructures, Aad Correljé. The debate covered a range of issues such as renewables vs gas, Policies and Geo-politics affairs and the economic investment situation.

At Thursday 29 September the 'werkconference' of the Topsector Energy will take place named ‘De Energie van Morgen’. NERA - Netherlands Energy Research Alliance, organizes two workshops at this event.

The market of photovoltaic systems is growing much faster than any other renewable energy source worldwide. The implementation into society, however, is happening in a slower pace. Smets: ‘We need to put the power to the individual, rather than relying on complicated incentives. After all, the solar energy revolution does this already!’

TU Delft start-up PHYSEE has won the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge. They were presented the award and the €500,000 prize at the annual Postcode Lottery event on 14 September, during which the five finalists pitched their business plans to the press, public, and a jury of experts.
