An Introduction to Botanical Drawing

This two-day botanical drawing workshop focusses on representing plants, flowers, seeds and fruits as faithfully as possible. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced participants and will be given by renowned botanical illustrator Anita Walsmit Sachs. Anita worked as a botanical illustrator at the former National Herbarium Netherlands, part of the University of Leiden, where she was head of the studio until her retirement in 2013. Part of her work is still organizing and participating in exhibitions in the Netherlands and the abroad, and her work is part of many private collections.

During this workshop you will learn all about making a botanical drawing. You will learn to observe carefully and make your own botanical drawing with pencil, paper and water colour.
