Introduction will be done by Introduction will be done by John Schmitz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of The Green Village of the TU Delft and former Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science. He will explain why the TU Delft is working on autonomous energy systems and what the objectives are for this specific project.

Joel Bosrup develops systems for renewable energy autonomy and is hired by the TU Delft to design and build the energy system that is now being realised at The Green Village. He will give a detailed description of the system and the modelling behind it. You will learn about some of the key technical challenges, such as balancing the energy flows in the plant and maximizing PV energy utilization.

Joel Bosrup is the founder of Wintersol, a renewable energy storage start-up. Based in Utrecht, the company aims to find practicable solutions to bridging the supply-demand gap of renewables and reduce the dependence on fossil energy sources. He holds a master’s in Engineering Physics and a bachelor’s in Business Administration, both from Lund University, Sweden.
