People-powered research: to dos and don'ts

Do you engage or would like to involve citizen scientists in your research process? Would you like to learn more and share with others who utilize Citizen Science methodology in their research? Join our Citizen Science lunch series on 16 March for a conversation on “People-powered research: to dos and don'ts”.

Our speaker this month, Sandor Kruk is an astrophysicist and space data scientist who is currently engaged at the European Space Agency. He spent a number of years developing and running citizen science projects at Zooniverse, a platform that supports involving people outside of academia in research processes. Sandor will share his experience in setting up people-powered research projects (such as Hubble Asteroid Hunter and Galaxy Zoo) , common stumbling blocks, interesting anecdotes and “what not to do's’ based on his experience as an principal investigator, project lead and scientist.

This meeting is an opportunity to meet others who are interested in Citizen Science/participatory research and discuss topics of interest/concern, as well as find support and guidance for your project ideas.

Lunch will be provided. Please, make sure to register for the event to ensure lunch.
