The 2018 goal of D:DREAM team 'Human Power Team' is to beat the women's speed record. Starting at the 10th of September, the team gets six days to achieve this goal during the 'World Human Powered Speed Challenge' in Battle Mountain, Nevada, United States.

Every year, teams from all over the world gather in Battle Mountain for the World Human Powered Speed Challenge. This is the Formula 1 race of the cycling world. Each team is able to try to break the world speed record several times during this event. Battle Mountain is the optimal location for this: it is located on a plateau in the desert, at a altitude of 1400m. Due to the height, there is less air resistance, which helps us achieve top speeds. The sprint speed is measured over the last 200 meters of an 8 kilometers long, straight and flat road.

More information about the team, the VeloX and the event can be found at www.hptdelft.nl.
