On 16 October, Raquel Rolnik gives the lecture 'Urban warfare: Housing under the empire of finance'.
In this lecture, Rolnik (Architecture and Urban Planning School, University of Sao Paolo, Brazil) presents her recently launched book 'Urban warfare: Housing under the empire of finance'. Rolnik is a former UN Special Rapporteur on adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living, and on the right to non-discrimination in this context. Her work has been highly influential in raising global awareness on the role of financialisation processes in the current housing affordability crises across the world.
