In the coming years of energy transition the world will undergo one of the most complex technological transformations in history, which will not leave society and everyday life untouched. The challenges regarding replacing our existing energy systems by a sustainable one are not only technological but also entrepreneurial, institutional, and ethical. This conference will contribute to a better understanding of how and under what conditions energy innovations occur and how institutional and social innovations can accelerate technological change. It will also stress social inclusiveness as a key value to be addressed in the design and operation of the future energy systems. This conference will bring together academia, policy makers, network companies and industry to address new challenges, share solutions and discuss future research directions.
