Symposium: Design/Synthesis Exercise 2020

02 July 2020 09:45 till 17:30 - By: Department of Communication

At the end of their third year, our BSc students are working on a major assignment, the so-called Design/Synthesis Exercise. In groups of ten, they make a design together to complete their bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. This is a challenge in itself, but this year, because of Covid-19 measures, it all had to take place digitally. Earlier, student Jillian Oduber told us what that was like. Delta also wrote about it.

Traditionally, the DSE is concluded with a large symposium, to which parents and interested parties are also invited. This also had to take place online this year. Last July 2, all groups presented their results during a one-day online symposium. Parents and interested parties could watch via Microsoft teams, and the presentations can still be viewed here. As always, the designs were judged by a jury of international experts and in the end team 24 was declared the winner with their design for a 'new generation fire fighter aircraft'. Read more about their design here.

Below you can find all 26 groups that participated in the DSE with a link to their topic. At the bottom of this page you can find the recordings of each presentation.
