VSV Symposium 2020: ‘The Red Destination – A Lunar Voyage to Mars’

You can now register for the VSV Symposium 2020 , that will focus on the revived interest in human space exploration of the general public, with the emphasis on the Moon as a stepping stone for Mars. The VSV Symposium 2020 wants to stimulate innovation by inspiring students. The VSV ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ wants to bring students and professionals from different backgrounds together, and contribute to the new space race.

The symposium focuses on human exploration beyond low-Earth orbit. In particular, the journey to Mars will be discussed, and how the current plans of lunar exploration fit into the bigger picture of human exploration of space. Throughout the day, people from all sorts of divisions, ranging from visionaries and realists to skeptics, will partake in workshops, speeches, and panels. The day will be led by the Chairman of the Day: Franco Ongaro, Head of ESA ESTEC. Speakers include Maria Antonietta Perino of Thales Alenia Space, Head of Advanced Exploration Programs, and John Connolly, Lunar Surface Systems Lead at NASA. Throughout the coming weeks, other speakers and panelists will be announced.
