On 3 May, the BK Talks 'Landscape Architecture - Here, there and everywhere' will take place.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the MSc-track in Landscape Architecture at TU Delft (LA.X), BK Talks hosts a panel organized by the Landscape Architecture section, aimed at discussing inspiring educational models, curricula and results of several Landscape Architecture European schools.

The debate takes place as an inaugural event for the exhibition of the book on the work produced by Landscape Architecture students at TU Delft in the last ten years.

Representatives from different schools will join the debate.

Laura Cipriani
Assistant Professor in Landscape Architecture, BK TU Delft

Laura Cipriani is an assistant professor in Landscape Architecture at TU Delft. She has taught for a decade at IUAV, Politecnico di Milano, National University Singapore, Venice International University, and the University of Padua. She holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Architecture (Hons) from IUAV (2001), a Master in Design Studies (Hons) in landscape and urban studies from Harvard Design School (2004), and a Ph.D. in Urbanism from IUAV (2008). From 2009 to 2012 she was awarded the EU Marie Curie research grant (assistant professor level), and since 2014 she has had the Italian Associate Professorship title. In 2008 Laura founded Superlandscape, a landscape, and urban firm.

Eric Luiten
Professor in Landscape Architecture, BK TU Delft

Eric Luiten (1959) is professor of Landscape Architecture at TUDelft. He also works as Advisor Train Infrastructure for NS and ProRail, chairman of the Committee for Spatial Quality in the municipality of Amsterdam, and the owner of his own landscape architecture firm. His professional expertise and skills has been developed through his position as independent spatial quality advisor for major public entities responsible for the development and execution of large public works (Province of Zuid-Holland, State Forestry Service, State Service for Water and Infrastructure and National Rail).

Inge Bobbink
Associate Professor in Landscape Architecture, BK TU Delft

Dr ir. Inge Bobbink is Associate Professor at Landscape Architecture at TU Delft. In cooperation with colleagues, she developed the educational program for the master track of Landscape Architecture. Since the start in 2010, she has been in charge of the coordination and ongoing development of the programme. Moreover, she teaches and supervises bachelor, master and PhD students, lectures internationally and takes part in different advisory boards. Her current research focuses on the identification of landscape architectonic and sustainable values in traditional water systems worldwide.

Teresa Galí-Izard
Program Director and Professor of Landscape Architecture, ETH Zurich

Teresa Galí-Izard is a Spanish landscape architect, agronomist and professor of landscape architecture. She received degrees in Agricultural Engineering and a Postgraduate in Landscape Architecture from Escuela Superior de Agricultura de Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Galí-Izard is principal of Arquitectura Agronomia, a landscape architecture firm founded in 2007 with Jordi Nebot located in Barcelona. Over the past 20 years she has been involved in landscape architecture projects in Europe including TMB Park, Coastal Park, the new urbanization of Passeig de Sant Joan in Barcelona and the Sant Joan Landfill restoration, which won the European Urban Public Space award in 2004. Prior to her appointment at ETH Zurich, Galí-Izard was an Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Harvard University GSD and the University of Virginia. She has also previously taught at the Escuela Técnica Superior in Madrid and Universitat Politècnica.

Adriaan Geuze
Professor in Landscape Architecture, BK TU Delft

Adriaan Geuze is founder and principal of the three branches of West 8 in the Netherlands, North America and Belgium and Professor of Landscape Architecture at TU Delft. With over 35 years of experience in the fields of landscape architecture, urban design and infrastructure, Geuze has realized more than two hundred projects in three decades, including Centraal Station in Rotterdam; Borneo-Sporenburg in Amsterdam, Strijp-S in Eindhoven; and Máximapark in Utrecht. Geuze has received numerous awards for his work, including the Dutch Prix-de-Rome, the Maaskant Prize, the Oeuvre Prize for Architecture of the Mondriaan Fund, the ARC Oeuvre Award and the ULI Netherlands Leadership Award. He frequently gives lectures and teaches at institutions worldwide.

Hanneke Kijne
Head of Master in Landscape Architecture, Academie van Bouwkunst Amsterdam

Hanneke Kijne is the Head of Master in Landscape Architecture at the Academie van Bouwkunst in Amsterdam. In 1995 Hanneke Kijne graduated from the University of Wageningen as a landscape architect (specialization urbaan) and has since worked for various employers, having been an owner at HOSPER (2006-2019) and the founder of MORE landscape since 2019. Her specialization is the urban public space; with a particular strength in concept development on all possible scales. Besides her role at the Academie van Bouwkunst, she is member of the "beauty commission" of the city of Utrecht, and member of the board of the NHBos stichting. A few of the projects Hanneke has done at HOSPER are Genk C-mine, Leeuwarden Wilhelminaplein and Park Groot Schijn in Antwerp.

Sanda Lenzholzer
Professor and Chair Holder of Landscape Architecture, Wageningen University

Sanda is a Full Professor at Wageningen University, Principal Investigator at the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS) and Visiting professor at Politecnico di Milano. She studied landscape architecture and Urbanism after which she was as a designer at landscape architecture and architecture offices in the Netherlands and Germany. Since 2004 she has been working at Wageningen University and has specialized in the relationship between research and design and climate-oriented urban and landscape design.

Antonio Longo
Associate Professor of Urban Planning, Politecnico di Milano

Architect Antonio Longo (Milan 1966) is an associate professor of Urban Planning at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) of Politenico di Milano. He is coordinator of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programme in Landscape Architecture _Land Landscape Heritage at the AUIC School. He is responsible for educational laboratories of urban planning and is a member of the doctoral college of the "Urban Planning, Design and Policy" program at the same University. His research topics mainly concern the role of open space and landscape design in the reorganization and regeneration of contemporary territories, disciplinary integration and the forms of project in the processes of transformation and territorial and landscape management, the relationship between landscape and infrastructure and the role of parks and water in the urban design of cities.

María A. Villalobos Hernandez
Assistant Professor of the Master in Landscape Architecture and Urbanism, IIT Chicago

Villalobos is Assistant Professor at IIT, Chicago. She holds a Master from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture from t ENSP-Versailles. In 2017, she won the first prize in the Venezuelan Architecture Biennale. It was the first time that a woman received such an award. Villalobos serves in the Lincoln Yards Advisory Council and the Committee on Design for the Department of City Planning in Chicago, and as core member of Dark Matter University.
